Shop News
The shop is up and running again!! Many orders have been completed and shipped, others are in process and will ship in the coming weeks. As I write this, Rob is in the shop yard planing the raw lumber for the February orders. This is a job that requires a long stretch of dry weather which we are forecast to have all week. He got an early start this morning unloading the dry kiln.
Rob unloading the dry kiln on a very pleasant fall morning
A little nest between the boards, abandoned, probably due to the extreme heat of the kiln! Rob planing lumber amidst the foliage.
The Extras
Happy News: There will be extras! All extra boxes, which will be available for immediate shipment will be listed on https://www.lehays.com/ in the near future. There will be a Facebook post prior to the listings becoming available.
Around the Grounds
Rob has completed the woods walkway that he started last year before his Appalachian Trail hike. It is a wonderful, meandering path through a peaceful wooded setting. We enjoy a sunrise walk each morning and as many walks during the day as Porter can talk us into!
A Touch of Maine Folklore
According to this bee’s nest we are in for a long, cold, snowy winter. The closer to the ground the nest is built the easier the coming winter will be, with less snow and warmer temps. Of course, this is folklore, only time will tell if it’s accurate! I’m just hoping these bees don’t have to shovel their way out of this nest…..
