Stack of Four Boxes, Sizes #0 through #3 **2nd, Discounted**

Please Note: This stack of four boxes is being offered at a reduced price because the size #3 box (in a black milk paint finish) has a couple of very minor finish imperfections and a very small crack in the tip of one swallowtail joint. The crack is difficult to see unless looking closely and is purely cosmetic — none of these issues affect the structure, durability, or appearance of the set as a whole. Stack of Four Boxes, Sizes #0 through #3, Various Milk Paint Colors

Oval boxes can be stacked one on top of the other or nested inside one another for convenient storage.

The boxes in this stack include the following:

• Size #0 (Yellow Milk Paint Finish): 3 ¾” Long by 2 ¼” Wide by 1 ¼” Tall
• Size #1 (Red Milk Paint Finish): 5” Long by 3” Wide by 1 ¾” Tall
• Size #2 (Sea Green Milk Paint Finish): 6” Long by 4” Wide by 2 ¼” Tall
• Size #3 (Black Milk Paint Finish): 7 ½” Long by 5” Wide by 2 ¾” Tall

Construction:

• Materials: The sides of boxes are constructed from maple and the top and bottom boards from quarter-sawn pine. All lumber is milled at our shop here in Embden, Maine.
• Hand-Cut Joints: Each swallowtail joint is individually hand-cut by Robert LeHay, ensuring each piece is unique.
• Fasteners: The band and top and bottom boards are secured with copper tacks made on original 19th-century machines.
• Finish Options: Available in a variety of milk paint and natural finishes. All painted pieces receive two coats of a high-quality tung oil finish, while natural finish boxes receive five coats. This oil finish ensures that the box is well protected and the finish will only get better with age.
• Aged Appearance: Copper tacks are darkened to provide a vintage look. Following tradition, the bottom of painted pieces is left unpainted, then dyed and oiled to provide an aged patina.
