8" Round Recessed Lid Box, Antiqued Natural Finish

This round box with recessed lid in an antiqued natural finish has a diameter of 8” and is 3 ½” tall.

Please note: Recessed-lid boxes are designed for mounting needlework, so the top board may show small spaces where it meets the band. This is normal for this style and will be fully covered once you install your embroidery. To attach your needlework, you will need to supply an “insert” (not included). A piece of foam core board is often used and can be purchased at many online or local craft supply shops.

The recessed lid of this box allows needleworkers to install finished pieces onto the top of the box. The top board on the cover is recessed ¼”.

Construction:

• Materials: The sides of this box are constructed from maple or birch and the top and bottom boards from quarter-sawn pine. All lumber is milled at our shop here in Embden, Maine.
• Fasteners: The band and top and bottom boards are secured with copper tacks made on original 19th-century machines.
• Finish Options: Currently, we are only offering this product in an antiqued natural finish. It receives five coats of a high-quality tung oil, ensuring the box is well protected and that the finish will only improve with age.
• Aged Appearance: Copper tacks are darkened to provide a vintage look.
