Established in New York City in 1832, Ketcham & McDougall produced exceedingly high-quality thimbles. The company ceased production in 1932, during the depths of the Great Depression. There is a hallmark in the top, a large K with M and D on either side and the word “sterling” beneath it. This thimble has retained it’s shine! It is quite fancy with a pretty wave pattern around the bottom, delicate indented panels and a beaded decoration beneath that. There are no punctures, it is slightly out of round.
