Established in New York City in 1832, Ketcham & McDougall produced exceedingly high-quality thimbles. The company ceased production in 1932, during the depths of the Great Depression. There is a hallmark in the top, a large K with M and D on either side and the word “sterling” beneath it. There are no punctures and it is not out of round. There is a bit of patina which could be polished away or left as is.
