The lid carries a street view of Roxbury, Massachusetts, and the inside holds a Boston harbor scene above a column on the December cloak fashions of the day. These papers were carefully sourced from antique shops in Maine, chosen from damaged or incomplete sections that held no standalone collectible value. By repurposing them, I preserve a small piece of history while giving new life to materials that might otherwise be lost.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\"\u003eThe finish is something a little different — a hand-sponged paint, worked in layers so a darker ground shows through the color above it.
