It's built for everyday use, but it's just as at home on display — holding a few finished pieces, or showing off some of your antique sewing implements.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHow it's made:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eMaterials:\u003c\/strong\u003e a quartersawn maple band, with a quartersawn Eastern white pine bottom and handle. I mill all my own lumber on-site, from logs sourced through local woodsmen here in Maine.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eJoints:\u003c\/strong\u003e each swallowtail joint is hand-cut, so no two pieces are quite alike.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eFasteners:\u003c\/strong\u003e copper tacks made on original 19th-century machines, darkened so they blend into the finish rather than stand out. Wooden pegs securely hold the handle.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFinish: an antiqued natural exterior and interior — the same warm natural finish inside and out, dyed for an aged look and finished with five coats of tung oil.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eShipping within the United States is included.
