1950's Satin Tea Length Cocktail Dress, Ivory and Gold

Measurements: Bust 34-36, Waist (free hips) 29, Shoulder to waist 16", Waist to hem 29.5"

This beautiful, festive cocktail dress was hand made, machine sewn in the 1950's. It is ivory satin with a metallic gold threaded pattern running through the material. The dress is tea length, A line, with a V neck. There is a tulle petticoat under the skirt for just the right amount of fullness. The bow at the back has folded over but could be gently ironed back into shape. The bow is starting to come untacked on one side but could easily be fixed, the other side has a snap attached so that the bow can be detached to allow for the zipper to be taken down full length. The snap is in place and works well. The metal zipper works great, no sticking and no splitting. The bodice is fitted and darted. The material is of amazing quality, it is very heavy and creamy smooth. This dress is very well made, I can't find any damage, there are a few small spots on the skirt which are barely noticeable - they look like rust spots. I have pictured this. As with all vintage clothing, it is a bit wrinkled, should be professionally cleaned or naturally aired. I will leave this to the discretion of the buyer. This dress is very wearable, I wouldn't hesitate to slip it on for any occasion!

Dress only is included in the sale, purse and compact are my photo helpers :-)
