This is a very fancy little box! The glass is beveled, there is much filigree on the brass, the cream colored velvet in the bottom is in wonderful condition. The feet are in place, they all have a little bend at the very bottom. This almost looks like it was done when it was made but I can’t be sure. The top has a little list to the right when opened but the hinge works well and it stays open when lifted. There is one dark spot on the velvet underneath, please see the photos. I would estimate that this dates to the 1920’s – 1930’s. Btw, I recently learned that jewelry caskets like this one were meant to hold pearls – very specific I know, but that’s the story!
